Training Programs and Services

Training is required in order to ensure safe use of fall protection equipment. Commercial Solutions offers several levels of fall protection training and awareness programs. Our certified fall protection specialists run these training sessions at the customer’s site or at our training facility in Edmonton. Attending a training session qualifies the customer for a discount on the purchase of fall protection equipment from Commercial Solutions.

Intermediate Certification

This program is designed to provide more in-depth information and discussion to expand the user’s awareness of Fall Protection processes and systems. Content can be customized to specifically address the equipment being used on site. Typical sessions run approximately 6 hours and cover topics including:

Content can be customized to specifically address the equipment being used on site. Typical sessions run approximately 8 to 12 hours and cover topics including:

2. Useful statistics
3. Work site analysis
4. Program considerations and preparation
5. Discussion of pertinent regulations: CSA, provincial
6. Fall protection categories and terminology
7. Applications and systems components
8. Ladder climbing with Y-lanyard and cable systems

Fall Protection Rescue

This is a detailed program designed to develop a broad understanding of Fall Protection concepts and systems, as well as solution planning and program administration. Content can be customized to specifically address the equipment being used on site. Typical sessions run approximately 8 to 12 hours and cover topics including:

1. All Level One and Two material
2. Use of the Manual Descent Unit with an Anthron Descender
3. Use of the Surety Man Rescue System
4. Use of the Remote Rescue System

Training of Parts 1,2,3 approximately 16-20 hrs.
Training of Rescue component 2-4 hrs.
Maximum class size – 8 to 12.

Rollgliss Descent Systems

On site training for Self Rescue with the descent unit.

Maximum class size – 6 to 12.

UCL Training

Training for set-up of Confined Space Equipment and Fall Protection Portable Anchors, as well as information on Engineered Systems by UCL.

Prerequisite: Level Three course offered by Commercial Solutions
